Location: Upham Beach in St. Pete, FL

Are you looking for a tropical oasis for the backdrop of your next session? Upham Beach (located in St. Pete Beach, FL) is a versatile location that showcases jetties of large rock structures and a 'secret garden' filled with palm trees and other tropical plants.

Upham is one of my favorite beach locations to shoot at. Like most beaches along the Pinellas coast, you'll find soft sand and small, gentle waves that make posing in the water more comfortable. I often pose clients around the jetties of rocks for added depth in the background. The secret garden is perfect if you like botanicals or want to add some green to your session. The garden is located on the north end of the beach and is free to enter.

You'll find the crowds to be more moderate in comparison to some of the other beach locations in the area, however, parking can still be difficult to find at times. This is also a popular spot for photographers so don't be surprised if you see other sessions happening around the area & always remember to be courteous of each other. Parking is pay by the hour and you can use the ParkMobile app on your phone. There is a concession stand and restrooms at the main entrance to the beach for your convince as well.

Below is a map of the beach, the north end is where you will find the best spots to photograph along with that secret garden I mentioned earlier. It's kind of a hike from the main entrance but well worth it.
